Authentic Impact & Team Dynamics Trainer
Where are you in this photo and why is it a moment that means a lot to you?
I’m in Zimbabwe, near Victoria Falls in 2006 working on a lion breeding project. The big guy next to me is, Phoenix, an 11 month old captive bred lion - a vital part of the ongoing lion conservation effort in Africa.
As a volunteer, I assisted with the care of the cubs which included: feeding, enclosure cleaning and behavioural enrichment (plus administering lots of cuddles when needed!).
To this day, I’m still referred to as ‘The mad cat lady’ because of the time I spent with the cubs.
I supported this project because animal conservation is very close to my heart – it saddens me that so many species of animal are gradually becoming endangered and extinct.
Being in nature, and especially around animals is an environment where I feel at my most happy and alive, and part of something greater than myself.
What type of work as a human potentialist really makes you tick?
I’ve worked in the field of personal development for over 20 years as a trainer, facilitator, and coach.
I love helping people to understand themselves better – their strengths (which they often don’t see!), their core values and motivators. It’s this self-awareness that enables people to be their most authentic self, whether that’s in their career or personal life. In my experience, what often stops people thriving is living according to someone else’s values and not their own. But when they unlock who they really are, that’s when they thrive.
We only inhabit this earth for a relatively short period of time, so it’s important to live a life where you thrive, not just survive – that’s my inspiration!
What makes you proud to be a part of Team Evolve?
At Team Evolve, we put people and what makes them tick at the heart of everything we do. We see people as humans first (not as roles or positions!) with their own unique needs, wants, and vulnerabilities. I truly believe this approach helps the people we work with better understand themselves and everyone else around them.
